Restek MPRE+ Preamplifier
RESTEK MPRE+, Stereo Balanced / Unbalanced Preamplifier with 7 Inputs [Mini Series].
Description
With the MPRE +, RESTEK has created the ideal preamplifier for the MAMP power amplifiers. It forms the control center in a hi-fi system composed of components from the M series. The preamplifier switches between the source devices and adjusts the volume of the music playback between these sources by amplifying or weakening its input sensitivity.
Another possible function, the interposition of different sound-changing filters, has been deliberately avoided in the MPRE +. Instead, the M-series preamplifier was completely bred for the highest possible reproduction quality and sound neutrality. Adaptation to the acoustic conditions of the listening room is only possible to a limited extent with the help of tone controls on the preamplifier. With high quality components, tone control is harmful rather than useful in most listening environments.
However, the preamplifier RESTEK MPRE + offers the option of using the SPLIT function to loop an external device into the signal path for room adaptation.
The “Pre” of the M series has seven high-level inputs. The input sensitivity of the selected input can be adjusted within a range of +/- 6 dB to compensate for volume differences when switching between the individual inputs. Using the volume control, the signal can be attenuated by up to -95 dB or amplified by up to +10 dB.
The low output resistance of 50 ohms and the maximum current of up to 200 mA rms of the driver stages enable correct line adaptation and the use of long cinch cables without loss of musicality and accuracy.
All parts of the electronics of the MPRE + preamplifier are DC-coupled, making it possible to transmit even the lowest frequencies in high quality. This means that the signals are also transmitted in the lower frequency spectrum without distortion and with phase lock. There are neither capacitors nor electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, which could cause corruption. Noise and crosstalk are below the audibility threshold.
Finally, the hi-fi preamplifier RESTEK MPRE + has the same modern and puristic design as all devices of the M series. All functions can be operated with just one rotary push button. The housing of the MPRE + is therefore simple, functional and timelessly modern.
